Time to reflect at Anzac Commemorations

The 11am Anzac Day service in Nubeena was presided over by well-known local veterans, Les Rowe and Don Sutherland, as well as being very well attended by residents and visitors alike.

Don Sutherland spoke about the Anzac legend that was born in Anzac Cove, Gallipoli in 1915, only 14 years into the life on our fledgling nation. That it was the personal sacrifice, for an ideal and a way of life, of those World War 1 diggers (none of whom remain)  World War 2, The Korean Conflict, The Vietnam War and various peacekeeping missions that is the tragic cost of those wars. He went on to remind us that 2000 Australians are still serving overseas.
