Last month Tasman District School students travelled to Hobart to compete in the Southern Primary School Sports Association Winter Carnival. The group of 27 students from Grades 5 and 6 were part of the fourth SPSSA Winter Carnival that saw over 2000 children from 58 schools participating in.
The carnival was held in several locations throughout. A variety of sports including rugby league, tennis, volleyball, football, badminton, netball and less familiar sports such as croquet and bowls were part of the programme. Tasman School’s Grades 5 and 6’s had representatives in Table Tennis , Indoor Carpet Bowls, Basketball and Hockey (1 person) and Netball (1 person).
